Summarize your work in one word?
Gourmandise
What inspires you to continue making work?
My painting is above all, a love story between pleasure and contradictions.
I love to play, and painting is my playground. A place where I can fall, hurt myself, enjoy myself and work. Someplace where I can be serious or mess around, and amuse people. It is like a theatre stage, a set, where I can play with mediums, formats, and the different subjects that constitute my paintings, which can become proper characters, as I play with the wurst.
I am crazy about old and contemporary painting and their various textures which I play with, adding generosity and fattiness.
The sight of flesh, barbecues, accidents, jokes, hot images and photographs, dogs on the street, postal cards, cookbooks inspire me. I collect pictures (found footage images and personal ones), they have a key role as well, as painting to me is, food for the eye.
